While stopped at a light I had a small GM car plow under my backside. Nobody hurt, but axle looks like it might be bent. Right spring is bent badly and have right side box damage from my own wheel. Thought I had no body damage until I saw that. Also box is sprung because of high lift on rt side (that one re-arched spring, don't cha know) Cracked the cap as well.

Between my 4 year old thrashing my laptop, putting a nail thru my middle finger, and wrecking my truck, it's looking like a bad week for me.

Dang Pete, you better take that lucky horseshoe off the door, before it hits ya' in the melon. No point in buyin' lottery tickets either. It'll get better, well it should get better, ok, it might get better. ;) Look at it this way, now you'll have something to do at Macomb. :D

Glad no one was hurt.

Later, Rob

Sorry to hear the bad news Pete. Hope you are ok. (We could always send you a pile of Victor poo to take your mind off your current run of bad luck... ;)Hope all turns out well.

Bummer Pete

That's a bummer to hear Pete... Now would be a good time to find another truck. They say bad things come in groups of three, so I hope things get better soon. Oo. Oo.

Count your blessings Pete. You could have been in that 72 car pile-up down here on I-94. Whiteouts suck. One dead and several still in the hospital. Luckily my kid wasn't in it, but it took him 2 hours to get home instead of the usual 40 minutes

Bighammer,

Sorry to here about your accident. Glad to here you are ok. Like Rob said something to do at Maccomb. I have not had very good luck the last 2 weeks either. The trany went out in the truck, girlfriend left, and hurt my shoulder lifting. Only good thing out of the whole mess is I got a new better trany and I don't have to spend money on her.

Hope to see you at Maccomb.

That's the attitude to have :) More money for BOMBs now :D

Edit: I forgot one other good point: Nobody to complain that you are working on your truck too much :D

I kept a trailer hitch on a 79 Rabbit just in case of a rear ender. As it turns out, I got nailed twice in the rear & both times, thank goodness for the hitch. Makes me want to go slide in the drop down hitch right now!

Glad to hear everyone is ok bighammer. Hello chriopractor! Doesn't take much to knock the spine out of alignment.

Talked to the insurance guy who looked at it today and he said they will fix it. He is assuming that the axle is not bent and the frame can be straightened. I tried to persuade him to total it, but he said it was close but not close enough--At least at this point. He admitted the estimate may run more than he expected. I suppose looking at the truck he he knew it's a truck of function rather than beauty. It will take the dirty loads and make a good race truck to tow with my new one :D

Funny thing: He insisted I had a lift kit installed. (and probably wanted to void my policy) I told him it was all factory suspension.

It might be a little harder to get that new one now huh?

You'd better take that lift kit off now ;) Some people just don't have a clue.

Sometimes stuff happens for a reason. It got me off the fence. (and into a head-first dive :D ) I guess the old one will be a spare for dirty jobs. (and maybe some fun ;) ) I might have to have a closer look at that drag schedule Eric.

I don't know how things are going to work out on Pete's '94 (still in the shop), but things worked out pretty well otherwise. I'm sure his is enjoying his new '03 today.

Congrats on the new truck bighammer :)
