Block difference?

I did some searching, but didn't find what I was looking for.

Trying to find how much difference there is between a 98. 5-2002 block and a 2003 up block. I've got an 03 that will most likely need a block and was wondering if I could use an earlier one that I have already. It's not a 53.

Different animal.

You can sometimes switch 12v to 24v. But not 3rd gen block to 24v 2nd gen.
