block heater is OK!!!!!

WOW... guess i was a little hasty!! the block heater appears,upon closer inspection, to be working just fine. . i physically checked the engine,and it was nice and toasty... truck fired-up instantly with no help from the intake heater... sorry for the premature posting!!!... ..... tom

While on this subject has anyone tried putting a timer on the block heater?I am timing mine to come on 2 hours before I go to work and it is getting warm in that time frame. Will this create any problems that someone might know of?

kebee,the only problem it may cause for you is finding where to spend the money you save on your power bill.

Tom,my block heater will only melt off the snow when the outside temp is above 20°F,then it will even keep the windshield clear. Wind chill counts in this situation.

That was the idea saving the electric since dereguation has begun. Why give the money to the electric Company. They have already raised natural gas prices triple to 1 year ago. #ad
