block heater kaput????

oh well... 29 deg. and it would appear that my block heater has died... never noticed hissing with this truck,but the snow always melted off the hood before!!this morning,the hood was snow covered as well as everything else... anyone else have one fail??? thanks in advance..... tom

Tom,

Did you check the outlet that it's plugged into to make sure it's still hot and not a tripped breaker? I haven't had any problems with mine.

Mine also does not hiss anymore, but it still does work as when I open the hood before starting it and fell around the thermostat housing area it feels warm even when cold and sitting all night. So I would check it by feeling around the area of the block heater before starting your truck.
