Can anyone tell me location of the block heater on an 07 5. 9L cummins? I don't have the power cord, and i want to buy one, but i just want to make sure that the block heater is even there first. Does the heater come standard when you buy the truck, and you just need to get the cord?

Thanks!

Check the passenger side of the engine block, toward the front, below the exhaust manifold, just behind the oil filter. I can almost guarantee you have one.

Per the service manual, the block heater is located on the right side of the engine below the exhaust manifold next to the oil cooler. The heater is standard, all you need is the cord.

Thanks guys for the great info. I'll go out and check that out in the morning. I'll have to order a cord from Geno's before winter. Might as well get the battery blankets too.

Thanks again!!

My truck is an 04. Still on the original batteries. Truck was in TX and the last 3 winters it was here in MD. I religiously use the block heater when the temps dip down in the low 40's at night. That is my personal preferance. I do not have the battery blankets. Do yourself a favor and get a Marinco 150BBI plug and attach it to the lower airdam. Makes life so much easier. :)

remove the air duct between the air box and the turbo and you will have access to the cap you will need to remove to install the cord.
