Engine block heaters are a way of life in this corner of the world. While unplugging the truck from the friendly extension cord I got a 60 cycle jiggle . . . thought it might be the cord. Two days later the heater went dead. Found a new block heater and cord at the dealer (cheaper than Cummins this time) and installed it - took less than 15 minutes. These are super easy to replace and they also give you a real good view of the internals of the engine - helps you see how your anti-freeze chemistry is doing.

If your engine heater starts tripping GFCI's - don't mess around - replace ASAP!

A couple of years ago I got lit up pretty well when unplugging the heater   :-laf Turns out that the cord was frayed right next to the plug. Installed a new plug and it's been fine since. :D

You never know about those guys from Mass..... Sean was still sporting a pretty wild hairdo when I met him... . :-laf

Sean... only kidding and glad ya didn't get fried.

PS... Sean..... remember a couple years ago in Derby when you showed me how to remove the tamper cap on the fuel screw and it got stuck somewhere in the engine? It fell out today when I was tweaking the pump again..... :-laf

HA, you should see my hair now..... just a bit squirly. You'd never guess that there's a barber right accross the street from where I work :-laf

You still got that silly little lock collar on the fuel screw? :-laf :D
