Thanks Bob

I will try those things as I think about it the wire and element would have to come apart if they sell them separately. Thanks again

Oo.

Should be warranty...

Tony,

The block heater is a standard part with the CTD, and is provided by CTD, so it should be covered by the 5yr/100,000mi warranty. If you have an extended service contract, and are outside the limits of the engine warranty, you would have to check the provisions of your ESC.

As for warm-up time, I find 3-hrs to be fine for any temps above 15. When it gets below that, I have to leave it in for an additional hour for every 15 degrees it drops. The last few days it was plugged in for 7 hours before running, and while it fired up just fine, I still didn't have immediate warmth out of the heater. Of course, it was -40!

 Hi

Well it looks like the problem is solved for know anyway. If there is a problem then it is in the cord. The thermostat housing is warm and it took 3 sec for the wait to start lite to go off. I want to thank all of you for the help and support that all of you gave me in my hour of need. As always the TDR people came through just like you always do thanks so much!!!

U. S forces dependents sell through local papers used transformers 220 to 110 for twenty to forty dollars also in thrift shops near dependent areas . Ron in Louisville KY:rolleyes:
