Smarty suggestion...anyone else in my boat?

Well, I just bought a truck, and the block heater doesn't work. Tested at the heater, so it's not the cord.

I was just wondering if the heaters were the same for all years, or if they changed the thread size or anything.

I found one that says it's for 2002-2006? And was wondering if it would fit my 1997.

Thanks for the help.

There shouldn't be a thread size. The heater goes in the soft plug hole on the passenger side. It's just a plug with an allen head bolt ( screw ) thru the middle with a T-bar to hold it in the block. I'm not positive if one that new will fit, but I think so. From '98 down will fit for sure.

Yeah, mine is in the engine block, but the auto parts store wants $90+ and I was hoping to get one a little cheaper. Thanks for the suggestion.

vssman.

Your links are for cords only. No element.

I replaced my OEM 750 Watt w/ a Zerostart 1000 Watt. I love mine. Lifetime warranty, no questions asked on the cords. I emailed them and I got a new cord in a few days , N/C. I think I paid about $60-$70 8-9 years ago.
