well,

i ran a search and cant find anything... . my blower motor

was working (on defrost) set to high driving along and then it

would quit. turn the switch to off then on and it would come back

on. now it wont work at all. i checked the fuse, 30a, and it was good. any suggestions? btw it doesnt matter what position the selector is in, the blower wont run at all. however, this a. m. i turned

it on the a/c side, in defrost, all the way to hot ,and it worked for about 5 minutes then quit. help! please! coffee steam is freezing in the cab!

Heater

Look at the resistor to the blower motor, it is mounted in the front of the A/C,heater housing below the glove box. Will look like a plate with wires going into it. bg

Have you done the recall to add in the blower motor relay? If you have not you are drawing power through the ignition switch, which could melt things/cause fires/etc. Recall number is 875. Applies to most 96 trucks.

Could easily create problems you are experiencing.

If you have crappy dealers nearby (likely) you can do the recall yourself. The part for the kit was $21, part number CBXR8750. You can get reinmbursed for parts and shipping through the warranty folks (you need an original receipt). the address for reimbursement is on the warranty notification card.

You might also want to drop the blower motor from under the glove box and test it with a 12 volt supply (battery) to verify that the motor is good or bad.

if it won't run off directly off of the battery you need a motor. If it runs, then there is a problem in the wiring.

3 bolts, I think they are 7mm or 1/4 I think. Used my 1/4 inch socket set with an extension.

Good luck.

thanks for the input, the re-call has been done so i need to run a jumper to the motor to make sure its good. if it is, does anyone

have a part number for the resistor? thanks again
