Has anyone had to replace their blower motor? Mine is making an intermittent knocking noise and is getting hot @ the lower bearing. I checked with NAPA- they want $109. 00 for a replacement! Anyone know where I can get one a little more reasonably priced?

Bill,I'm not positive, but I'll bet the same motor is used in a lot of DC rigs, that makes it easy junkyard material. Another option is to pull the motor and get some numbers off it. Granger.com or any electric motor shop can most likely cross it for you. I replaced the blower motor on a John Deere tractor last year,$21 from Granger,JD wanted $180.

Also check bearing supply houses as well as replacing the motor brushes. Usually the bearing is what fails. When you replace them lubricate with some oil and moly grease. I have rebuilt several Mercedes fans using this technique. good luck

Bil, you might try Mopar4less.com, supposed to have good prices. bg
