Blowing past the wastegate

The wastegate on my B1-2 is set at 42psi, however I can hit 50psi @ WOT. Will blowing past the wastegate damage the turbo?

You will not hurt a B-1 pushing it to 50#. But you are loosing HP and causing excessive heat in your engine at that boost level. It almost sounds like your wastegate is not opening..... Try and use air pressure to check the working condition of your wastegate, see if it works and if so what psi does it start opening. Maybe some adjustment is warranted.

Thank you Doug! The WG is hardlined/preset from TAD. Can you give me a tip on how to air pressure test it?

Use a regulated air supply to the actuator,watch when the wastegate starts to move and adjust accordingly.

I talked to JetPilot today, and he figured out my problem. The Wastegate will work a lot better if I hook up a boost source to it... . LOL, DANG DO I FEEL DUMB! The DD3s did not push past 40psi, so the problem did not show up until the m4. 5s were installed. I did wonder what that open tube was for..... I also wondered how the WG worked when I installed the turbo... . Oh well, now I know!
