Competition Street Diesel Horsepower

Off Roading Last dune trip of Spring 2006 season!

Scott, at least you didn't have to pull the transmission to fix yours. I ended up knocking all of mine out and putting new ones back in with Loctite and JB weld..... I think that makes them useless now :)

Hope to see you light that puppy off for good next time..... BOTW I liked the spool-up... . looks good.

Here is the one that let go at MM, the white smoke underneath the truck was the water hitting the hot pipe.

BBD- just wondering if your rear freeze plug is taken care of like Jim did? if so I wonder the one you just had blow was the next in line pressure wise. Reason I am asking is I also got my rear one taken care of for good and just wondering if I should do a bit more to my other plugs. I do know that Haisleys lock-tited them when they put the new ones in... think thats enough?

Did BBD only install the back EEP freeze plug? They have freeze plugs for the 3 side plugs and also the front where the fan is located.

yea he only did the back one with the regulator thingy, I'm pretty sure he's didn't do anything to the others--what does EEP have for the others???---chris

Scott, I was really talking you up to the crowd before the problem.

I look forward to your next apperance :)

... and there I was, at the start line, saying, "I've got a $100 says he won't make the 100 ft mark!!" ;) :-laf

Over on Diesel-central there is a good thread on Cast plugs blowing for anyone who wants to check it out.

Brian Block has some good comments on it.

Yeah I have the rear plug fixed but I believe the pressure regulator was way to high, like 30psi, it's down to 10psi now and I clipped two viens on the water pump and punched out the center of the t-stat. Hoping that works will find out tomarow. TDR member Redram1 put me intouch with a good billet electric water pump which is sitting in the garage floor waiting for install that should really take care of it.

Chris: I believe EEP sells the J hook plugs as well.

Gene: your just plain bad luck, or put some wierd curse on folks, that's the only reason you have won squat :D

I will have to look at what was done to my Thermostat by Haisleys... he said that he took care of it and that its nothing even close to a normal thermostat now! hmmm... will have to look at that.
