Blown Fuses,need help:pLEASE

I had this same problem when the truck was brand new,I am blowing fuses in the box under the hood, engine control fuses, truck quits running,I have to carry fuses with me to get me home:mad:

When it was new they changed to box under waranty and it didnt happen again for 90,000 miles and here we go again.

Any body eles have this happen?

It is just the engine control module fuses. .

These fuses are darned expensive to be replacing all the time.

Any ideas guys?

Let me know please:confused:

I looked like it got wet in there at one time, but I never drove through a lake:D Not that I know of anyway. .

Dodgeboyz,

Sorry that I can't help but I've never known that fuse to blow. I would use a service manual to trace the wiring on that particular

fuse, then carefully trace the actual wiring looking for shorts. A pinched wire or a sheetmetal screw thjrough a wiring loom can create intermittant shorts that are difficult to find. I'm not recommending it, but if you decide to install a circuit breaker in place of the fuse, use a quality circuit breaker such as an aircraft circuit breaker. The parts store automotive breakers are of poor quality. Good luck!!

It was the engine control module according to the dealer, they put a new one in and we will see what happens. Thanks for the reply. .

If it starts doing it again, I would say the short has to be in that area. Because when they change the box it is better for awhile. If I were you, when the truck is running I would jiggle the wires going into the fuse block. You may still have problem or may not but it never hurts to check. I've found alot of shorts this way. good luck.
