Well I think my head gasket is going. Oil is running down front of engine. There is no oil in water or water in oil yet. I will be checking it out with dye in oil to trace it for shure. If it is head gasket. What gasket should I put back in. I want to run twins down the road 70to80 pounds. So I what to fix it right the first time. I was thinking piers copper gasket ,O-ring the head and piers head studs. Wishes if money is there ported head ,piers cam and ATS exhaust manifold. I do have a friend to port the head. Well any info would help my figure this out.

Gasket

A good choice would be the . 020 over stock type gasket if your going to install twin turbos. Dropping the static compression can help drop EGT and take a bit of pressure off the head gasket area.

Just curious,

What Turbo are you running and what boost are you seeing?

I just installed a PDR Stage 2 head (flows 20% more than stock) with an O-Ring, a . 020 over gasket and a set of studs and couldn't be more happy with the setup, at the very least O-Ring the stock head do the gasket and studs, the head port will allow more air to work for you and drop the EGT's.

Jim, are you running 90 psi with the new head gasket? I will have to do it sooner or later. :D

Robert, if you need any help let me know.

No absolutely not, 70 Max! I really don't see were 80 or 90 PSI would do me much good as the air temps would be sky high and there is no tell were the drive pressures would be at. I now have my wastegate setup like yours and gained just a tad of drive pressure, this weekend hopefully I will put my 16 housing back on the little charger and see were the egt's and drive pressures go the I might try a 14 but it comes on really violent now with the big bottom end fuel I have. EGT's are not too high to worry about but I'm sure I will add more fuel later when money allows.

I don't want to do much more to my 01. I need it to be dependable. It will still stall if I let off the go pedal to quick and 60 psi is going to pop the head gasket sooner or later. I have a 97 12 vavle sitting in the trailer that I need to stick in a truck. I can't make up my mind what kind of truck to put it in. I want a light truck. The best would be an S-10 extened cab 2 wheel drive with the engine moved back about 2-3 feet for weight transfer. The seat could be move back to fit around the engine. Cut all the bed out and just use the side and put a glass nose on it. Then Twins with a lot of fuel and and auto transmission that will handle all the power.
