Blown IC Boot Stories

I popped a boot loose last night while running 103mph and scared myself BADLY...

Anyone else got any stories about this or anything else non-destructive about your truck scaring you?

I blew one off acouple times after I was taking a test run after the 370 install. If you think your EGTs are bad, see what they do when ya pop the boot off. I had to limp home about 2-3 miles at 55 and the EGTs were thru the roof.

i blew one for the first time about a week ago... i thought i had blown my new turbo up at first...

Same here, thought I grenaded my turbo. Greenleaf said it sounded like a pulling tractor LOL.

I blew one off at the drag strip, but that did not scare me as bad as doing 110+ down the interstate and the drivers side tow mirror folded up, now when that happened I think ISMP... ... ... ...

Somone from PA posted some time back that a blown boost hose will destroy the turbo and it happened to him twice... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... ??? Don't recall who that was but lots of folks do it and don't need a new turbo. I didn't understand that.



Far as I know Bill's turbo is still working... . eh Bill? BTW that was like, SUPER FUNNY!!
