With the sad news of HVAC's passing, I wanted to bring this thread to the top again in memory of HVAC. I've been keeping this thread out of the archives from time to time since it best points to HVAC's humble beginnings in his quest for greater diesel performance and I didn't want it getting lost.
HVAC started this thread more than 4 years ago. . . Aug. 30, 1999. He wasn't a registered TDR member yet (that is why his handle doesn't show up originally). He was "hvac" then
This predates the "BOMB" and even "BOM" acronym.
I had been thinking the other day of digging this thread up again for kicks, but never had I imaged it would be for this reason
Best wishes to ya Buddy, you'll be missed greatly. . .
I remember reading this thread when it was first posted . . I had not signed up and was a lurker... right after this I got ahold of Nowel and bought one of these "new" boxes. . still have it. . one of these days I'll put it on the classifieds for a newbie. . still works very well just not as easy to adjust... Nowel and I installed it in my driveway. . I couldn't believe a guy would drive 3 hrs. to deliver and help install this devise. . that started our close friendship
This thread is one of the all-time classics Gary. I was starting to work on an article for the Red Rocket for HOSS and was surprised to see the last post was from 2009. Can you believe it'll be 10 years ago this summer Nowel got started on his horsepower quest? I can't help but wonder what he'd be doing now if he was still around, but it's great that the Red Rocket lives on
