My blue box sucks!!! I can't even accelerate with it on. I've called chip and gone through all of the steps and it still doesn't work. I HATE IT and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!!!! DON'T BUY ONE!

I don't know why they aren't talked about but I just won't ever talk about one positively.

I borrowed a Blue Box for a couple of weeks of testing on my ETC/6spd truck and it is simply awesome! I loved it.
Now,there have been reports that the ETH trucks don't respond the same way to fueling boxes like the ETC trucks do. So maybe that's the problem.

I have one of the original 3 wire Blue Boxes. I love it enough that I won't even trade for a newer 4 wire. It has 16 different adjustments (17 on the 4 wire) for fueling and power level.
You can not adjust it on the fly like others.

Blkdemon, you did not post what type of Ram you have... I agree with MikeR that if it is an ETH, smaller boxes seem to work better, there have been many reports. If it is an ETC, call Chip again or find someone near you that owns one. Sorry to hear you are so dissatisfied.

If I was in the market for a box right now, it would be the Blue Box or the PM3.

Mine is an ETH, but before it was purchased I called Chip and he said that there would be absolutely no problem with putting the blue box on an ETH. If anyone is interested in it, it's hardly been used. Heck I've had it for 6 months and never turned it on. I could make you a heck of a deal.

Mathews,
ETC and ETH are the ordering codes for the two different 24 valve engines currently available. We use these terms to describe which engine we have in our trucks.

ETH is the 245hp 'high output' engine(6spd only).
ETC is the 235hp 'standard' engine
(the ETC in the automatics during the 98. 5-2000 years were 215hp).

I've been using Blue Chip's new box with built in digital pyro/boost guages for about 4 weeks now and give it two thumbs up. Really like the adustability of it; 63 fueling levels, user selectable defueling based on pryo temp, configurable fueling curves based on transmission/turbo/TC type. Have recently added a TTPM (DD's programmed EZ) and it's improved (decreased :) ) the smoke at low boost. It's at the upper end of the price range for these boxes, but I've no complaints.

Just a note, be careful when adding any sort of box on the wires at the injection pump. These boxes are asking the VP44 to do something it is not designed to do. Also, make sure you have good fuel pressure before adding a "box," as they tend to use quite a bit of fuel.

Evan... your point is well taken. For some unknown reason, some pumps fail with these boxes and some don't. #ad

Some pumps fail, though, without any boxes.

My bottom line is if I am not ready to replace something, I don't mess with it.

I still need to check my fuel pressure, but am half afraid to find out what it is... .

Come by and I will check it, better safe than sorry! #ad
That would suck if you were smokin' a Ford and your pump crapped out because of no fuel pressure...

Evan

Would this include the V/A or just boxes that are hard wired in? I've been thinking of adding either a V/A or Power Edge EZ. Is one better that the other in regard the the injection pump?

Chris

Hey Chris, that applies to ALL computer modules that TAP INTO THE VP44 injection pump wire (not CMs like the VA CPC, EZ, TTPM etc. ).

someone needs to come up with a way to put those fueling boxes on an ETH this sucks not being able to run those blue boxes etc
