They're Here!! 3rd Gen Valve Covers!!

I saw that 'ol 24 valve of Daves make those numbers. I think it was right after I popped my charger. What a great day that was. If any of you guyz ever get a chance to ride in Dave's big red truck I highly recommend it.

Not my truck, but a truck i built a DTT trans for,he has a redline box. He was at the Fall brawl, Trevor Wood. His truck runs like a scalded dog with the Redline box. He picked up 10hp over a TST powermax competition box as well. He dynoed the TST with an edge ez,unhooked the TST and hooked up the redline,(kept the EZ)and rolled again all within 10 minutes of time. The truck runs great, and pulls incredibly hard . The truck burys the tach with ease. I know he has the Mitchel valvetrain on his truck, and a B1/B2 twin setup built by Nate Wright as well.

Does the FMS control timing as well as fuel? if so, why doesn't the Redline? I'm just trying to keep from buying two boxes- but if I have to, I guess I can. Would I even need a timing box with a MAD ECM and a Redline?

No need for timing box as you already have MAD ECM.

I think the MAD and Redline would probably with the ultimate 1/4 mile electronics package for the 24V.

Any updates, any body have any sugestions as to what may need to be upgraded for 4000 rpm's? How about HO guys, any numbers yet? Is this box too much for our pump? There seems to be plenty of stuff on other boxes, but not much info on this box.

To run 4000 rpm you will need to upgrade the valvetrain components. Better springs and retainers at a minimum and even the bridges should be replaced with aftermarket components. There are several offerings from different vendors to address these issues but beware not all are created equal.

How are the VP's holding up with the Redlines? Anyone care to post the Dyno charts. Would this box require a HRVP for HO owners? Any new updates on these boxes... still the King of fuel supply? Any 24V going beyond 4000 RPM with electronics yet? (P-Pumps don't count).

As with all of the competition fueling boxes VP reliability is of concern... . Take a look at Formula 1's website and you can see our trucks dyno charts using the RD box. The RD box + timing style box makes about 15-20 more HP than the Edge Hot Drag Comp. There is a new version of the RD that pretty much allows for unlimited RPM.

I've had the RD box on mine for 5-6 month's now and really like it. I make 15-20 more peak hp w/ the COMP Box, but I can carry high hp up to 4000 rpm with the RD box. I have the unlimited rpm version of the RD box and have pushed it to about 4125 rpm which is where the vp-44 is limited at(to). David

Truck has just over 100k on it, been bombed for the last 40k and have yet to hurt a vp-44. 53 block also.

where are you guys installing your thermocouple--manifold or elbow---I'm getting ready to finally put my twins back on and the REDLINE box on now that I've got everything ready---chris

dlange--thanks--figured it was ok there, but the instructions say to install it in the elbow(exhaust) and I wanted to be sure --chris
