I have an Edge Drag Comp right now, and I would like the features of the FMS - especially the EGT cutoff. I do not have a problem with EGTs yet (max at WOT is about 1250 pre-turbo), but I would like to run bigger injectors (I have DDIII's now w/ a PDR HX-40).
Would it be possible to stack the Premium FMS with the Drag Comp as the timing box? (I do not want to buy a new EZ if the Drag Comp can do the same timing job) Or would the fueling be way too much, no matter what the comp is set to?
Stacking aside, if timing were my only extra consideration when refering to the FMS...
Would I be able to run bigger injectors, and just rely on the FMS to manage my EGTs, or is that a bad idea? Does the FMS defueling for EGTs kill power fast, or is it gradual, so that you still have power on tap, just less? (Basically, would I get more power/speed with the drag comp and DDIIIs dumping all-out with the max safe egts that I have now, or stage 4 or 5 injectors and the FMS managing the higher egts through defueling?)
And, I have to ask, just for the sake of argument if nothing else...
All other factors equal, would a FMS/EZ combo (or the comp instead of the ez if the stacking mentioned earlier were possible) provide more power overall than a Drag Comp alone? Or would the switchover put me worse off?
