I am intrested in the new Blue chip wizard system that has a digital EGT and boost Gauge . Sounds as if the unit also can be used for knowing when fuil preshure is low also.

I am wondering if some of you guys that are using the blue box and Powermax can post some insight??? I have beem trying to get ahold of blue chip, but their web site has never worked also the phone # in the last TDR issue does not work either. The New blue chip just look like it has more to offer than the Powermax in the engine management area also the fuiling can be increased in 1% steps.

The Phone # for Blue Chip is 888-4720-7373
. I have had no problem talking to him with this #. The e-mail is chip@bluechipdiesel.com

Hope this helps

That recent post of theirs caught my eye as well. I just tried their website and it worked OK - the URL is http://www.bluechipdiesel.com. I've sent email inquiring about this new product as it is not yet liisted on their website. No reply since sent 3 days ago. I'll probably have to call...

You will like the TST powermax.

Their powermax (adjustable version) with the integral gauges will be available in a week or so according to Mark at TST.

They have top quality stuff! You might surf their site at www.tstproducts.com for a picture of it.

I think it retails for 1099, a bargain if you add the price of the adjustable powermax, plus seperate gauges.

Call and get your name on their wait list, they will go fast!

Thanks guys the site for Blue Chip for some reason now is working, I have no idea why it wouldn't upload before. It looks like I am a little premature on this box disition since neither one has really bean tested by our fellow TDR Bombers. It looks like I may go with the new Blue box, but will just hold out a few more days hoping to see what one will have the leading edge. .

I talked to the folks at Blue Chip today. The beta units are fully functional with the exception of the low fuel pressure warning. It comes with the pyrometer thermocouple. Also the electronics and display are in a "plain aluminum box" with the final product to be anodized and etched. They also plan on offering a housing to mount it on the dash. Hope this helps.

I like TST!

And the adjustable PM is out 'cause I talked a friend of mine into buying one... came in early this week and I'm installing it for him Sat.

My PM2 is upgradeble (has jack on back) to the remote adjustable for $150. Mark Chapple also provides great technical advice and customer support.

I still love my Blue Box... wouldn't trade it for anything out there. Its the "old" 3 wire model, and produces plenty of power! Been running it for over 20,000 miles with no problems!

Just so you know the current Blue Chip and TST boxes are going to be different than the versions that will be available in the near future, because the future ones will have gauges and user settings built into them.

I have had both Blue Chip and TST boxes mounted on my truck, and I love 'em both. The TST PM3 is a little more sophisticated than the Blue Box simply because it has the adjustable remote, but in the end they both do the exact same thing... give us the overfueling we want!

I just upgraded my original Powermax for a Powermax3 (street version) 2 weeks ago. The box that will be out in about a week will be the one with a built in boost and EGT gauge and will have defueling based on any EGT level that you set. I tested that box when I was at TST two weeks ago but it still had some bugs they had to work out (the defueling was too aggresive). The power that this box makes is incredible. I have 275 RV injectors on top of the box (everything else motor wise stock, except the muffler removed) and on a g-tech it says I'm putting down 375 hp and doing the 1/4 in 16. 3 @ 92. 8 mph (both numbers averaged over 5 runs) - my EGT's will hit 1500 at the very end of the quarter. With my original powermax and 275's it said 305 hp (that combo dynod at 313hp at scheids) and 16. 7 @ 87 mph.

I also have a PowerMax3 and the power is pretty amazing. I still say it's by far the most bombing for the buck out there (maybe I'm a little biased... lol). I've decided to enter a truck pull or two this year so I'm going to upgrade to the competition version. Whichever box you go with, be prepared to bring the rest of your truck up to a point to support your new fueling levels... clutch, turbo, exhaust, fuel delivery, etc. It's a disease... stay stock! #ad

Steve... nice post with the info on the box and the G Tech. Although the numbers differ slightly from one another, they are close! There is another thread on this forum that talks about the G Tech. Results with my G Tech were within 5hp of the dyno... which one is correct??? We will never know, so I will take the higher of the two!

I have the competition PM3 on my truck. On setting 5, the G-tech shows 420 hp (I've got DD Stage IIs and other stuff too). Higher settings [6 through 9] generate too much heat. I'll have to wait til I have the cash for the HX-40 to lower my temps. Heck, I've outrun everything I've tried on setting 5 anyway. Last Friday, a friend and I lined 'em up. He has a 1978 L-82 Corvette. I know, they were dogs on a good day, but he's added headers, a good lumpy cam, and heads, and bracket races the vette. He runs consistent 15. 5s @ 3500 ft altitude where we live. I had no problem pulling away from him in every gear. He had an automatic, so he would regain some of my advantage while I crashed the NV-4500, but as soon as I would pour the coal to the Cummins, he would start to fade! His normal drag car is a 70 Chevelle SS 454 [runs high 12s], and he has driven my 7800# truck. He is VERY impressed with the mighty Cummins. He said "this thing pulls as hard as my Chevelle!" Yeah, maybe pulls as hard, but not nearly as fast! 7800 pounds has a way of eating up hp.

Back on to topic, the PM3 is an awesome piece. I wouldn't pay for the "competition" version unless you're really serious about purchasing other components like big turbos, exhausts, nitro-glycerin, C4, etc. ,etc... The "regular" adjustable PM3 is awesome. The in-cab adjustability is a hoot! With the DD-IIs, I usually leave mine on setting "0" until somebody pulls up and wants to play. A few punches of the button and we're loaded for bear... or Mustangs... or Vettes.....

I suggest getting some "reasonable" injectors and the PM3. You'll love every minute of it!

I have the power max 3. I was impressed with the extra hp out of the box, I tow a 8500 lb trailer and I have no problems getting there with out my foot on the floor board all the time. before the pm3 my truck was taking a real beating, trying to get it up to the speed limit, now my foot is not as heavy. thank goodness my corns where hurting. #ad

Just installed an adjustable PM-3 on a friend's 2001. 5 6spd today. Really kicks. #ad
Looks like I'm gonna upgrade my PM-2 soon. Only $150 if your PM-2 has an RJ11 plug on the back.

I have a PM2. How do I tell if it is upgradeable to PM3 and how much it will cost? Is it as simple as unplugging the old box and plugging in the new box?

Ninearrow, look at the back of your TST box. If it has a phone jack it can be reprogrammed. I believe the cost is $150. 00.
