Does anyone out there in the TDR land, ever seen blue clearance lights? I wanted to add clearance lights to my rig, but dont like the red or yellow. I would like to add blue or clear. does anyone know where I might be able to find such a thing? Thank you for input :p

I can't imagine another color other than amber or yellow as some call it. I would have to see this. I don't know but may not hurt to check the legalitys of another color besides amber. Just a thought.

I believe blue lights will make you VERY popular with your local Police Department. (Not in a good way)

I think DOT regs only allow yellow to the front/ red to the rear.

I know where you can get them, I've got the website address at work, I'll post it later. But... ... ..... far as I know, Rusty is right there are not legal (at least hear in CA for sure) there are restricted for use by Law enforcement.

The Place I thought had them didn't:( - but I know they are available. The model 15 style (standard type for most pick ups) is available in blue for JC whitney.

Try This

I like the idea too.......

I have had this idea too. The thing is the legality of it. I think that since the ricers get to have neon on the car, and seeing as how they are "personal" trucks, not "for hire" hotshots, or wreckers, it should be ok. I have not had ANY problems from my headlights, and have had them for about 6 months now. They give a very slight blue tint, very good looking. Half the kids here in my town have them, that is not exgarerated. I see them all the time in Houston, still no problem.

Here's what you could do. get the clear dome, and put an amber bulb in. At the same time route another wire and put a blue bulb in it too. Hook them up to a different switch, and bingo. For car shows and what not, that would be sleek I think.

I'm not saying that it's legal, just something else to ponder.

Strictly speaking, no, it's not legal. However as long as you're not commercial you shouldn't get bothered. I've seen two shades of blue and also purple marker lights. As long as you don't have flashing blue I've not seen the cops get excited about it. At most perhaps a fix-it ticket, although I know people running light blue with no probs. If you are commercial you can't pass an inspection without the yellow/red.

I seen a 3500 with red white and blue on the tailgate lights. Looked pretty nice when lit up, but tacky when there not.

oh man, and I was wanting to do this too.

I guess I'll have to figure out where else to put blue lights,, LOL

Anybody seen those blue lights that the imports and fords are putting in the windshield water sprayer location? They look cool.

injectors and stacks and ....lights?......oh lord!!!

I really fail to see how this is breaking any laws. I just don't see the point of a law stating that... "you can not have blue lights on a truck, yellow is ok, but not blue!" I ran with 2 blue lights stuck on the inside, in the corner of the windsheild, for 2 years, and NEVER had a problem with them. But then again some states still have stupid laws. What's that site, www.stupidlaws.com? What is so bad about blue lights?

Yes I have seen those Merrick, and on a Dodge? Why not just put one of those "Team Honda" stickers that they all have even if they are not a Honda? You could say... "Yeah we like beating eople in the car. THEN we pull the truck out, and show them what Honda speed is all about. " :-laf

Alright Merrick, what injectors does Stefan have for you?

END THE LIBERALS, FREE THE BLUE LIGHTS!!!

The local law enforcement professional (Ha Ha) harassed my son coming home on night about his windshield washer sprayer blue lights. My son was informed that he was on the verge of be placed in jail for impersonating a cop!

I spoke with this officers patrol SGT several hours later, we jointly read the state code and determined that the officer was a little aggressive in his comments. The GA code requires the lights to be “rotating or flashing”. A steady state light is legal and within the confines of the law.

The SGT did admit that he had a half dozen officers out of 112 on the road that night that had no business being law enforcement officers.

Avoid the hassle and run amber clearance lights.

I'm not sure about laws concerning the color of lights on a rig. With common sense as a guide, when was the last time anyone has seen any emergency vehicles besides law enforcement run blue lights? I can't think of one, all other emergency rigs use some combination of red & yellow.

Speaking form experiance!!

I was driving my sister little honda civic. She has these little blue lights in her windshield wipers. looks really cool at night till I got pulled over and issued a $180. 00  ticket. Court says that blue lights on the car is "personating a police officer".

Check with local law enforcement before you get those.
