Hey guys was at the pumps this morning fueling up the tempurature was at 15* and the truck had ran down the freeway for about 20 miles. as I was putting fuel in I noticed a bluish haze coming out of my tailpipe any ideas as to what my problem could be? The truck has 89000 miles on it and consumes about 1 quart of oil every 6000 miles I use synthetic.

What was the temp of the engine? Sometimes a cold engine with tired injectors will smoke blue. An easy way to check is to put your face in the smoke momentarily and open your eyes. If your eyes begin to burn, then you know that it is fuel. Blue oil smoke won't burn your eyes.

How's your power?

Service manual sates that fuel supply line restriction (kinked/bent or blocked) or a defective lift pump can cause blue fog like smoke.

I had the bule smoke problem - caused by 'coked' injectors. (ppor fuel supply as previoulsy mentioned)

Pulled the injectors and physically cleaned the tips, also had them pop tested for the heck of it.

My coking problem seemed to be accentuated by burning a small percentage of waste motor oil in the tank.

All fixed.
