Am I the only one who is having trouble pairing a cellphone to the uConnect feature on the 2010 RAM?

I have no prior paring experience so this is a new experience for me. I got it to pair with my phone once but when I tried to use it a second time the same day, is said no phone found. I deleted the pairing and tried to pair the phone with uConnect again with no success after multiple tries.

Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

I have had the same problem before also. I just left it alone and tried it a few days later. I don't care for the bluetooth too much on my new truck. I wish it was set up better. I guess $50K doesn't buy perfect. Great truck other than bluetooth problem.

This isn't going to be helpful but I have to say I have had no problem pairing two different phones. Depending on which phone I have on me, it finds the phone just fine...

Sorry not more helpful.

Your fone has to initiate a connect sequence. The uconnect is just a receiver. If you're having an issue connecting, try power cycling the fone. I usually have to power cycle mine every 2 days or it just wont connect.

works good for me, only issue is bad mic sound with the windows down.

When I have trouble performing a procedure like setting my cell phone up with the blue tooth function in my truck I ask someone younger than myself to do it. Teenagers were born knowing how to do it.

My guess is its probable a phone issue. Not to say that the truck is perfect, but I have not had a single issue with mine from day one. (Except when the wife calls and forgets that everyone else in the cab can hear her) :-laf

Has anyone noticed that when the first call comes in, after being out of the truck for a while, it takes a few seconds until you can hear the caller??? On subsequent phone calls, the system works fine with my iPhone.

This system is weak compared to my '08. I had the same Motorola phone I use today paired with that truck for years, never an issue. My 2010 tries to pair, finds the phone, then drops it. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I get the message on my phone "allow phonebook transfer to uConnect?" Regardless of whether I push "yes" or "no" it drops uConnect. Then finds the phone again. Then repeats the process. If I stick with it, meaning go through the connect / drop / connect many many times, once in awhile it will finally show the "B" symbol and connect. Of course when I cycle the key I lose it again. It's maddening!

It's not the phone, it pairs and functions flawlessly with the Sync system in my Ford, and I've paired it to a Cadillac as well just to check. And of course, my 2008 Dodge with uConnect...

It's driving me CRAZY!

I don't WANT my phonebook in the truck, so stop asking!

Anyone have any suggestions?

I don't see any recent posts on this bluetooth connection issue so I am going to bring it up again.

The bluetooth in my 2010 Ram has worked perfectly for over 7 years. Today it will not pair with my iPhone or my wife's iPhone. I suspected the recent IOS update but our phones pair easily with other bluetooth devices we have in our home. So I'm reasonably sure it is the Ram's radio.

Any comments, suggestions or even better, solutions?

Thanks!

New update to your fone may have borked the pairing.. Delete and re-pair.. Reboot the fone after deleting the pair

Thank you. I thought the same. I deleted the pairing on the phone and tried again. No joy. The radio says it has no pairings. I then tried to pair my phone with other devices in our home. All worked. I'd like to reboot the car radio but don't know how without disconnecting the batteries.

I have had 2 different phones in the time I have owned my truck with no problems to report. I would say check on your phone in the Bluetooth setting and make sure the box is checked that makes your phone visible to other devices around it. Your truck will not see the phone otherwise.

Thanks. Yep, my bluetooth is turned on and pairs successfully with 4 other blue tooth devices I have. The fact that the "pair" option on the radio is not "highlighted" or active tells me it is a truck radio issue. I saw somewhere online how to reset the radio to original factory settings but I am reluctant to do that and screw up the other functions of the radio. We have a lengthy trip coming up starting next month. I can live without the bluetooth but not without the satellite radio!

This is why I don’t like U-connect, I allways have issues with my 07. It either does or it doesn’t, same with the 2014 Ram I drove for awhile.

Here's an update on my bluetooth issue. I went to the uconnect web site to look for a software update and as requested entered my VIN number. They didn't recognize it! I sent an email to their support contact address and have not heard a reponse. In the meantime, I purchased a $22 bluetooth receiver and it works ok for receiving incoming calls. But it has no microphone so my phone has to be out of my pocket so its microphone is exposed. Initiating a call with this arrangement is a PIA.

Does anybody have any more ideas for me to try?

I have a 2014 Grand Cherokee ecodiesel Overland. I was having issues with bluetooth connecting or not after the most recent apple IOS update. Seemed to have a mind of it's own and couldn't figure out what was causing connection issues. I would switch from Pandora to a podcast and it would disconnect. Switching apps would cause it to disconnect and the only thing I could do to get it back would be to shut the truck off and re-start. I use the Waze app almost every time I drive and sometimes when I touched the screen in the Waze app, it would all of a sudden connect and bluetooth would work again.

I finally figured out that I need to have all the apps closed on my phone (double click the home button and swipe up to close) and then the phone would connect like it should. I have to open what I want to listen to first (podcast or music app) THEN open Waze and everything seems to work fine now. I use Waze without the verbal directions just the map, so I don't know if that had something to do with it, but I seem to have figured it out.

I'm looking at finally getting another Ram after being without a truck since 2010. I'm now debating getting a used one with the uConnect or buying new with the apple Carplay. The connectivity part of these trucks has become more important to me than I would have thought years ago.
