Yes BMW, not Mercedes. . . latest Car & Driver had a nice writeup about it. The little 2-liter motor cranks out 161hp and 251tq which would scoot a 3200 lb car along pretty well. 0-60 is 7. 1 sec but quarter mile is 15. 6@89 which isn't bad for a stock car. It has a lot more poop than the VW 1. 9 TDI. http://uk.cars.yahoo.com/car-reviews/car-and-driving/bmw-120d-1004078.html

The article didn't mention whether or not BMW will offer it at some point.

This 245hp/331tq BMW Racing Kit version looks like fun

Yes, that new little BMW turbo-diesel is sweet! I think the Audi A4 Quattro is even available with a thrifty turbo-diesel ... ... . in Europe.

Car and Driver gets these tempting vehicles to test, but then we often learn they won't be available to the US Market.

Did the Car and Driver article suggest that BMW would offer their new diesel in the US. ?
