I installed a Bob V 2 wheel low kit today with a mod. Bob's kit when following his original instructions requires one to also operate the control valve to active 4 wheel drive, along for the transfer case lever.

I wanted it to operate like normal and require the extra step of moving the control valve only when using 2 wheel low.

To do this make the follow connections:

1. Control valve #1 to Lt Gray, vacuum in - same as instructions.

2. Control valve #4 to other half of rubber hose cut on Lt Gray line. Vacuum in on the transfer case valve connector.

3. Control valve #2 to rubber hose on transfer case valve connector removed from green line.

4. Cap green line.

Or if you have it already installed.

1. Remove line (port #4) from rubber hose on red line.

2. Remove cap and reinstall red line.

3. Remove line (port #2) from vacuum in on transfer case valve connector.

4. Plug line (port #4) removed in step one above in place of line remove in step 3.

5. Disconnect green line at rubber hose and cap green line. Mine had a plastic couple, which remained in green line and I install cap on other end of coupler.

6. Plug line (port #2) remove in step 3 into rubber hose from green line on transfer case valve connector (Vent).

Warning: Do not operate the control valve in 2 wheel high, as it was cause CAD to engage. And front diff will be turning, but transfer case will not be engaged. 4x4 light will be on, but you are not in 4 wheel drive.

Operation for 2 H, 4 H and 4 L is normal like stock truck.

Operation of 2 low is:

Move transfer case lever to 4 L position and pull control valve knob out. 4x4 light should go back out.

Deactivation of 2 low is:

Push in the control valve. 4x4 light will come on. Select 2H, 4H or 4L as desired.

Bob may included this "SNOKING MOD" in his instruction in future kits.

I am not sure I understand this Snoking. I have had Bobs' kit for about 3 years and it works as follows. I have the toggle switch (valve) rather than the pull out that you opted for but with it in the off position the transfer case works as stock with the transfer case telling the CAD when to engage/disengage. With the toggle valve in the on position (the position that activates the larger 4-way valve) it will apply vacuum to the "off "side of the CAD and give you 2 wheel drive. All the valve does on my truck is turn the CAD on or off, completely independent of the position of the transfer case position. When you place the transfer case into 4WD high or low, the transfer case switch applies vacuum to the CAD to engage the front axle, and all Bobs' kit does is allow you to turn that off by applying vacuum to the other side, holding it in the off position. Some lesser kits eliminate the important step of applying vacuum to the other side of the CAD, letting it hang there without any positive force holding it off. That is why Bob has such a great kit, it totally eliminates the possibility of the CAD re-engageing unless you want it to. The dash light for 4WD is activated by the CAD itself with a switch on the axle. You should be able to operate just like stock, using the BobV kit ONLY to turn the CAD off when you wish to use 2W low. I can turn off the CAD and place the transfer case in 4WD high and drive around in 2WD high and use the toggle valve to go back and forth between 2W high and

4W high.

My toggle valve, which looks like a toggle switch, has only two vac lines on it and it does control the main four-port valve that applies the vacuum to the CAD.

Allnew2me has the deluxe kit. Both the transfer case AND the toggle valve have to be "on" for the CAD to engage, and the toggle can be left in "normal" or "Bypass" regardless of the transfer case position. The kit that snoking has is the standard kit. The normal way it is plumbed is the valve has to be pulled out AND the transfer case in 4wd to engage the CAD, make engaging 4wd a two step procedure. Both of the kits are designed NOT to allow the CAD to engage unless the transfer case is in 4wd.

Snoking has came up with another way to make the std kit work more like the deluxe, just without the safety feature of the CAD not engaging if in 2wd.

It wasn't making sense to me until Bob just explained it. Yep, I'm glad I opted to spend the additional $20 or whatever it was. I too have the Deluxe kit & it's working great!

can someone give me the site for this Bob v low set up I tried a search no ruck. thanks ED still not sure what system to go with the posi lock or this

Go with the posi-loc. The others (including the BD kit) do not address the unreliable vacuum CAD. The posi-loc does not make the cad stronger, but it does make it reliable.

I have to agree with the BD you still are relying on vacuum lines and moisture and frozen and non working lines. I am leaning toward the posi lock

Bob, can a truck with your kit be shifted from 2L to 2H on the fly?

thanks
kevin

Plumbed the way I did it, yes. I believe that the way Bob kit instruction work it is a two step process. I do not know if he has a warning on shifting on the fly. It may depend if you have the electric valve or the manual valve.
