:) Could someone point me in the right direction to get to Bob V`s 2 low kit on this site that shows pictures of the different kits & where they are mounted. T. I. A. for any light that can be shed on this subject. Seems like I have C. R. S. disease a-lot these days. TJMIV ;)

The info below is from Bob a few months ago. I didn't include the price since it may have changed.

All of these 2WL kits can be shifted in and out at anytime the transfer case

is in 4-wheel drive even while moving at normal speeds. This means that if

you are in adverse weather and need to quickly engage 4-wheel drive, the

transfer case can be shifted into 4W high in advance and the 2WL kit can be

placed in lock-out. Then to engage the front axle (4WD) just switch the

valve to

normal and lightly let up on the throttle.

NOTE: trucks built after 1-02 might not have a CAD, please verify before

ordering

If you wish to place an order now mail your check or money order to: Bob

Verhoef at

74933 Winter Drive; Rainier, Oregon 97048. Please include your email and/or

phone number, shipping address, year and transmission of truck and kit type

Good luck, Ronnie

Thanks, Moparguy thats what I was looking for. There was also a picture of the red knob mounted in the back of the 6 speed console. I should have made copys of these when I first time, but I guess that C. R. S. disease kicked in again. I talked to Bob on Friday night & I am going to buy one of his kit`s , just trying to make up my mind which one. Thanks again moparguy!:D TJMIV

This may be a five-speed console. I can't tell.

Buff, it's a switch to control the vaccuum to the front axle engagement. You can then engage/disengage the transfer case 4wd mode independent of the front axle engagement.

Probably the most common use is for a low range 2wd mode (4lo w/axle disengaged) for backing trailers or maneuvers in tight spots.

I also like it, but sort of oposite of Bob's description, for bad weather or rough going. I keep the front axle engaged so a pull of the transfer case shifter is instantly in 4wd without letting up on throttle or waiting for front axle to line up and engage.

Thanks Thomas, thats the one I was looking for & could`nt find. I want the kit so that I can pull the bigger boats out of the water at a slower speed to get them on the trailer straight & not bind up the front drivetrain like when in 4wd. Of course it would be nice in ice&snow which we don`t get much of, but maybe more trips to N. C. & TENN. are needed for testing. :D

Thanks!!!

Thanks for the explanation... sounds like something I'm gonna have to put on my wish list!

There are 2lo kits that only cut off or interupt the vaccuum to the front axle. They work, but get one like Bob's that actually switches the vaccuum. I found a pneumatic switch that I hooked up myself and it functions similarly to Bob V's kit.
