After reading all the praise about Bob's kit I ordered mine last week. I received it today & will be installing tomorrow. Just thought I would post a pic of the kit since I hadn't seen any pics of the kit. Instructions seem to be very straight forward & as others have posted it should be a breeze... .

I'll follow up with a post on how my install went. Bob's kit appears to be "Top Shelf"!

Update

Install went GREAT! I took my time & spent approx. 2 hours. Next weekend I'll get to use it on the 1st trip of 2006 with the 5vr. I did test it & it worked great. Thanks Bob!

Allows you to go into low range 4x4 without being in 4 wheel drive. 2 low makes backing up big trailers much easier without the axle bind on the front end. You can do it with manual lock hubs by not locking them in, but since our Dodges don't have that option... :{

Here is an excerp from a message in another thread... .

"503-556-4238. My typing skills aren't that great so it is easier for me to talk directly"

There is appearantly no web site.

He will explain the kit to you when you call if you have questions.

"Bob v" is his TDR user ID.

Good luck

Just returned from our 1st trip of the year... . Bob's kit worked GREAT! It typically takes me a couple or three stabs to get the 5vr put away & as usual on the 3rd try I got it put away. What was UN-USUAL, was that my transmission temps barely got over 180 degrees... Typically I see around 220 degrees while attempting this feat.

I would highly recommend this kit for anyone trying to push a 5vr around in reverse who has the CAD 4WD system...

woodsrat -

I used the shift knob and never got around to installing the kit. Bob was great to talk to and really knows his stuff. I wanted the shift knob to run an e-brake and back up lights but it's been a work in project for too long and I decided to clean house a bit. I also originally wanted to run the 2 lo but the OFE is so smooth and I don't back trailers often enough to need it.

thanks,

Jason

I received my kit a couple of weeks ago but I've been too busy to hook it up. Looks like a quality kit and simple install. I'm thinking about installing a console similar to the one below before the 2WL kit so I won't have to re-route everything.

That is correct about your 02. I haven't ever seen a 02 with the CAD (not saying they don't exist). It's a whole lot less heartaches without the CAD. The only thing is you can't use the 2L kit. Just take out the front driveshaft whenever you want 2L!! :D

Installed mine last weekend. Got Bob V's custom bracket to mount on my transfer case shifter. SWEET ! :) Looks great, works well and only took an hour to install. Wish all my upgrades went so good.

Thanks AClayton. I found it. I've read on here that kit can't be used on the 2002 trucks. I've got an early 2002 and I think it has the front axle that I can use this kit on, but I'm not sure how to tell. There is a "fat" part of the axle on the passenger side with what looks like wires and vacuum hoses going to it. Is that what I need to be able to use this 2Low kit?

Thanks.
