I want to find the information my parts guy needs to get me the correct interior trim paint. He says it's on the body code plate which is on the floor pan behind the passenger seat. Is this right? Sounds like it's under the carpet. Wouldn't surprise me, but I don't want to look under the carpet without a good reason.

It is under the passenger front seat. The carpet would have to come up. The plate is the size of a credit-card. It is harder to take just the right side out, so i would take the whole bench out. Hope this helps.

What is the credit card sized plate on the front core support then?

My understanding is that the Front Core Support (I think that's what it's called) is where the Radiator and Intercooler moount. There is a plate located above the passanger side headlight with data on it.

If the data you're looking at under the hood shows model, wheelbase, VIN, order number, and optional and special equipment, then you are looking at the Equipment Identification Plate.

I don't think I've seen that plate. All of this for some paint, I would take the truck to them and show them what color the interior is. That should be all that they need. What's funny is that at our local dealer they have my interior color paint on the shelf. I would hold of on taking the seat out PITA. Good luck

Vehicle Safety Certification Label = B-pillar

Body Code Plate = Under passenger seat OR front face of radiator closure panel

Equipment Identification Plate = Left front of inner hood panel.

All information from 2000 Service Manual
