WARNING! DO NOT TAKE YOUR TRUCK TO BOARDWALK DODGE IN REDWOOD CITY! Body Mount Clunk?

Curious if anyone who has had the TSB for the front body mount clunk has photos of the body mounts after the new piece is installed? Also curious if anyone has a copy of the TSB? My truck went into the shop for this, and a host of other warranty issues and recalls and I wasn't pleased at all with what I got back, and the new pieces hadn't even been installed! See the photos below for the damage done to my truck by the dealer trying to execute this TSB. This is turning into a huge battle since they refuse to make any recompense for the lost value in the truck after the repair is done. The truck has a huge amount of custom fab work done on it and went into the shop without a single ding anywhere and without any previous bodywork or paint work and you can now see that won't be the case anymore. There are other areas of damage up on the doors as as well so after this repair is done, I estimate 40% of the exterior of the truck will have been painted. Anyway, the body shop now has to try to install the parts supplied for this TSB, and I'm trying to figure out where the belong in the body mounts. The dealer seemed to thing they needed to lift the cab off the mount 1 1/2" to install them. Not sure how that would be possible with the fenders connected, and they obviously were not successful. Oh how I wish I had a buddy that was an attorney, I'm really sick of being the guy that gets screwed and it's happening all over again. Thanks

Holy Smokes!!! I am waiting for the local dealer to get the parts for the TSB. they told me it would take 3.5-4 hours to do. After seeing your truck, I am worried about the results.

Did they not get it set on the lift right? Did it fall?

They aren't being very forth coming with that info, and refused to let me talk with the mechanic or shop foreman. When the truck went in I was told no one but the shop foreman, who is the diesel tech, would be touching my truck. That obviously wasn't the case as he is a very knowledgeable and expeienced person. This is the work of some second rate, do the menial stuff kind of guy. Clearly there was a huge miss judgement made on the part of the shop foreman when he selected the person for the job. The body shop thinks they we're trying to lift the cab of the frame with the lift and just kept trying until the cab rocker panel buckled. I'm totally guessing here, but I think they are trying to avoid pulling the seats out so they could peal back the carpet and remove the bolts that go through the mounts. If you don't pull the bolts you have to lift the cab pretty high to fit anything into the body mounts.

I would have someone by the neck. I'm am sorry this happened to you and it is this kind of poor "quality" attitude I am seeing lately that makes me not want to ever take it to a dealer for anything. I am waiting on the front track bar recall and a new SCR muffler or whatever. I was talking to a tech at the dealership and he said he has done a bunch of these recalls but just by listening to him he had no clue! They were young and full of BS and really didn't care about anything. Sorry about the rant....... But I work in the power generation field where precision work and quality matter.

I am in construction and see this crap everyday. It is almost impossible to find anyone to help that cares about customer property. Work or no work makes no difference to some as the system will not let them go hungry.

Yes, I agree. I'm in construction as well and the quality of the workforce these days is ****e. Seems no one takes pride in what they do anymore, just a bunch of dumbasses with there hands out for a paycheck. This problem is REALLY bad her in the SF Bay Area.

It's not just in the construction field. The new hires we've been getting both out of high school and the maritime institutions are all but worthless. All they want to do is play on their smart phones. Ask one to do the job they were hired for and all you get is attitude. They all think they are entitled to get a pay check just for showing up. Forget any pride in doing a job well.

The Dealer does have the choice to decline work on modified Trucks, In the OP case I'm sure he wishes they exercised that option. WOW that's some serious damage.

I really have no idea what the relevance of your comment is? None off the custom mods to my truck have any impact what so ever on the work they were doing.

My comment was aim at how they damage your vehicle over a simple repair, If they would have not touch it at all the damage would have never occurred... The facts are its lifted and some lifts are NOT designed to lift any modified trucks... If you check You-Tube you can view trucks, cars flipping over on lifts.

I would bet the problem here is not the truck or the lift.......looks like a employee issue.....

Bingo! It was the idiot working on my truck. The truck wasn't on a lift, they were using a lift to try to lift the entire cab of the frame to install the new mounts, but the moron didn't loosen the radiator tower mounts. The idiot kept hitting the up button until the sheet metal collapsed. The body shop was able to install the mounts no problem, by doing on side at a time and loosening the radiator tower mounts that secure the whole front end of the body to the frame.

So...I get my truck back tomorrow. Dealer refuses to compensate me for the depreciated value, so I guess this is going to get ugly now. If anyone know a good attorney to deal with a situation like this, please forward me contact info. Thanks
