Hi All,

I fluid filmed my truck the last few years and then taped the holes in the rocker panels to keep them a little dryer with the salt spray (not the drain holes).

The tape won't stay put. Does anyone have a part number or size of the plug used in those holes? Or another solution?

Cant help on the plugs, but had considered filling frame with expanding foam on my former 03 Ram 2500 to reduce sound resonance, but turned up stereo instead. Of I lived up North, I believe I would have done it.

Cheers, Ron

You're probably right about not working:

About this item

  • Permanent formula
  • Waterproof and water resistant
  • Sand able, paintable and moldable
  • This is manufactured in United States
It's not designed for this purpose, so likely wouldn't have worked. I understand ZBar doesn't work either.

Cheers, Ron

There we are #68043989AA

Interestingly some Trucks came from factory with plugs while most had just Tape.

Damn Ozy, musta woke you up to be yelling about it:eek: (all caps with multiple exclamation marks).

Living down in the South, never had any experience with corrosion and anti-corrosion treatments, although I did negotiate having my wife's former 03 Ram 2500 undercoated. What seems to be the problems with treatments like Z-Bar, which I thought was the standard for preventing corosion?

Looking for a calm answer here.;) :D

Cheers, Ron

Hey Ozzy,

Sorry about giving you a hard time about the CAPS and multiple EXCLAMATION marks... you were merely emphasizing to OP not to do it versus actually yelling at anyone. I find you to be a good guy on the TDR, and not one of the agitators.

Sorry again, Ron

Ha, got you.
I was just terrified from the foam idea and reacted like a mom seeing her little son walking into traffic...

Foam is just horrible, one could fill the body panels with rock salt, it wouldn't be we any worse.

Funny thing about it was I was looking at curing resonating effect of hollow frame when thinking about it. Another funny thing is we live down a gravel road and the frame would load up with gravel and gravel dust. Everytime I washed the truck, I hosed out the frame to get all the muck out. Different locations different problems.

I guess next time I wash undercarriage of our trucks and Jeep, I'll focus on how those frames are.

Christmas Cheers, Ron

Someone I believe it was on a detailing thread had rust coming through from the inside. When he opened the panel he was amazed ther was foam in it from the factory, I believe it was on a Challenger. I think the foam was for sound deadening purposes.
