Got a question for those of you who have installed the bolt retention straps for TSB 09-002-01. This TSB was for installing the retention straps to prevent torque loss of the exhaust manifold bolts for engine serial numbers 56419738 through 56777585. I did a search last week but couldn't find the answer.
The directions say to use a 14mm socket and hammer, and tap the retention strap onto the head of each bolt. But I can't figure out which side of the straps to tap. The hole looks like it was created with a punch tool. The metal curves away at the hole where it looks like it was cut/punched through. If you've purchased these straps you'll remember that they're bent a little in the middle. Well, that bend is what I'm seeing in the diagram. But from the diagram, because of the direction of the middle bend, it appears the strap is tapped onto the bolt in a manner that forces the curved-out piece backwards back through strap hole. I would normally think that I would tap onto the bolt in the same direction that the punch/cut seems to have been made. Go with the flow tapping.

I can't think of how to best describe this so let me know if you have questions. I just don't want to put them on backwards. I've never had to tap anything like this on so maybe it's normal and I just don't know it.
Thanks all.
