My brother has an 07 5. 9 3500 srw 6spd 4. 10 rear gears, cold air intake stock exhaust.

He wants to "chip" it (as he put it) but does not want to go overboard. He wants something to just help in towing due to pulling a Hitachi mini excavator that weights about 12tons by itself. I did tell him that the first thing he needed was to do something about the exhaust and GAUGES.

Can my fellow TDR folks help me on this since I am new to the CTD world. (I did not tell him what I was going to do with mine, I can't have him beating me!! LOL !!)

RE: G56 and 4.10 gears

With the G56 (6spd) you can only get the 3. 73 rears and no longer the 4. 10s. They did this cause the final gear ratio on the G56.

I am not trying to correct you just giving some info to help out :) .

I just bought a 07' DRW 4X4 QC with a G56 and the gearing sure feels like 4. 10s

You are definitely right about the gauges He needs those on there ASAP with that kind of weight :--) . These CTD are very strong but not unbreakable.

I am waiting to log some more miles on mine before the boxes come into play. Keep us posted on your brothers travels with that kind of weight behind him we would all like to know.

thanks for the correction. He was unsure of the gears in the rear but told me it was really low geared. He does not tow the mini all the time but he does pull it around a bit. He bought a bigger machine (hitachi 120) and leases a 225 but has a peterbilt pullin those. He has about 4-5k on the odometer.

I did not have the heart to tell him that I wanted twins, water/meth injection and a few other toys. :-laf
