I got the Diablo Power Puck fron the UPS guy yesterday! I couldnt wait to try it out so here is my initial impression.
1. Idle has smoothed out, and there is no more twiching in the tach.
2. drivability is unaffected at part throttle.
3. at WOT the torque hits like a sledge hammer at 1900 rpm and does not flatten out like the VA.
4. more power than the old style VA I tried. (this is per SOPM)
5. a little smoke at low boost.
6. EGT went up about 50F at WOT
7. the pathetic stock ETH clutch WILL NOT HOLD!
My only complaint is that there was not a sticker in the box I could put on my window. If there is anyone at PDQ or Diablo looking at this I would suggest a six inch version of the "logob" and "pplogo" that is in the webmaster media kit. Just a suggestion.

Sounds great but, on your #3, max torque is around 1600 rpm, after that it's Horsepower and RPM's. Doesn't make sense?????

ARAR, you are correct 1600 to 2700 is where the torque is the highest on a "STOCK" ETH (505ft*lbf), My truck is not stock, so the torque curve is different I would guess around 750 ft*lbf at 1900.
Rob, it plugs in just like the VA and PE EZ.

Careful though guys. Cliff has the HO Cummins. This will not work properly on the standard and vice versa. You can try it on another HO version though. Just a reminder that there are two different units.

Just a clarification for those reading this topic. The VA plugs into the connector at the back of the pump. Dodge has installed a seal on that connector to detect tampering. If the seal is broken then you will have to explain why to the service writer when you go in for warranty problems. The EZ plugs into a data port on the wiring harness which doesn't have a seal. We don't want to alert DC to we #ad
Yup, they both plug in alright. Be knowledgable as to where and what the ramifications are.

Bob Riley, please explain. The ETH is a 6-speed standard. You mentioned two versions of the puck, one is a standard. What are they and what are the specific differences. You have a different version for the automatic trucks?

Since you are a Diablo dealer you may need to declare that in your signature. Check with "TDR Member" on that one. He seems to know all the rules.

HVAC,
There are two different computers and the same units do not communicate properly with the differnt units. If you have the HO unit, you need the HO version. If you have the standard output Cummins, you need the standard version. Not anything else I can explain I don't think.


As far as the rules, I will do that. I wasn't originally trying to sell them, but came over hear to answer some questions. I was actually not to be so forward as to put it in my sig. I have no problem with that if it's the rules.

Speaking of this "tape" that gets broken to plug in, a funny thing happened at the last Dodge rally. We looked under the hood of a 2001 and found this tape hanging off of one end. it wasn't broken either. So, basically, DC installed it poorly leaving him with a nice piece of unbroken tape. #ad

personally, I thoought this thread would lead us to a bombing by some well knowns: like hvac, joe D, chappel, mitchell, DD, and all the others that I didnt include, I was kinda let down when it was just the puck. I also conjured up thoughts of someone really making a deal with the devil for the BOMBED dodge... ... .....
The topic of this thread could have been one of the best april fools going, but alas... ...
