dealer tech wouldn't, cause they don't tear into em. but as soon as the DC regional rep looked at it for failure analysis they would void your warranty faster than you can say magnuson-moss.

chances are, however, they would just junk it, and then you'd have to spend another $300 or whatever to have Piers wave their hands over the new one:D

I have to thank Vaughn and others who have written about the Piers "Bomber Lite". I just purchased the "Bomber Lite" and an ATS exhaust manifold (POR-20 painted) to counter the effects of an EZ Edge. This combo sure wakes up the 305/555 and the egt's are reasonable. I tow a 9000lb 29' travel trailer and with this set up I haven't gone over 1150* even on steep grades.

I never planned on modifying the Mighty Cummins as I have been quite pleased with the stock power. Thanks Vaughn and everyone else who wrote in on the Piers modified turbo. It's definitely a great match for the EZ Edge.

no production ball bearing turbos for the ctd yet. piers is experimenting with them - wildcat is doing something or waiting on garrett to release theirs. rod at wildcat said "possibly" in a couple of months there might be something out. garrett already has them for the ford psd 7. 3L - going for close to 2 grand:--)

DD has a BB turbo for our trucks. Around $2k if memory serves.

Oh great. . thanks for the info Vaughn, looks like an add on sale when they release the cam, of course you would want a manifold if doing a turbo :D

Sounds like a good one.

Yeah Vaughn you went back to the future since this post was dated. I can't wait to see your truck missed you at Hoss's and Rob's the other day.

I remember way back when this post came out. But now I have a question regarding this turbo. Would it handle the Xzillaraider race box? Any input is appreciated.

I've got this turbo and also have the race box. I usally keep it on the 100 setting and it handles it fine. I have towed my 33' TT in the 100 hp setting and they were managable.

Hi SVasquez, I just added this turbo last week to offset the high egt's of an EZ Edge. Piers is great to work with. Had the turbo in about a four days. I also added an adjustable boost elbow which Piers said that they would adjust. Not quite sure how they did it but the wastegate dumps at 30lbs right where I wanted it and where they suggested.

According to Piers its a good combo with the Ez Edge or simular. If you expect to go high HP then check out a bigger turbo.

When I talked to Mark at PDR, he advised that I was beyond their Bomber Lite with a Xzillaraider Std box. I've been looking at the HTT's HTBG instead.

Kday, you may want to do some searches on this turbo. Somewhere I read that the 04. 5 and up are basically the same as the modified PDR 3g. Bottom line you probably have this same spec. turbo from the factory. Give Piers a call, they're good people.
