A friend from work just picked up a 1992 250 4WD. He's gone backwards from having an 06 to this 92 & is now looking for some bomb info. I told him I would post to see what can be done. It seems there are more bombs available for the 94-98 12 valve than the earlier 12 valves. Any suggestions as to what can be done would be appreciated... .

Bombing a 1st gen is just as easy as a 2nd gen, just a little more wrench work. It's always about fuel, so fuel screw, diaphram, idle screw, 366 spring, 2nd gen turbo, 4" exhaust, aftermarket intake, bigger injectors... all the usual. Search the threads for all of the above for more detailed info.

First gen injection pumps (VE44) are tunable just like a carb is. Lots of good info in the stickies.

Call PDR and get all the 'bolt-on' 1st gen go fast goodies they have, then get ready to bomb the transmission and rear diff before they go boom.

I'm not going to be of any help here, but would like to say this. This post remineds me of my early years. I would press down hard on the shinny pedal and the truck would simply move a little faster. No smoke. No thrills. I had an old guy in a mini van pass me like I was a slow moving freight train.

Now... I'm looking for that mini van.
