Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Bombing advice please!

I may be adding some spice to the 2000 3500 in the near future and want the best advice on how to go about it. It already has 4" exhaust, powermax3 adjustable, and will be getting a BHAF. It currently has 81kmi. I am thinking SBC, high quality injectorsn that will work well with towing and playing, and also possibly a turbo. I am not after excessive smoke, just a powerful truck. What model clutch do I need? It is a 2000 NV5600. Which injectors? Do not want crazy smoke or EGTs... and also... which turbo if I should get one at all. Only other thing I really need is a full set of gauges. I would like to do three in the A-pillar... egt, boost, fuel pressure. Which gauges should I buy? I am not looking to spend crazy money. I am welcome to all ideas. Thanks



Also, would it be reasonable to assume 400-500hp with the box, injectors and a turbo? If so, would I need to O-ring the head? That might be more than I am looking to do at the current time.

if your not drag racing or running the truck real hard a lot. id go with an hx40,dodgezilla or jammer turbo ,and a set of EDM 2. 5s. If you run an hx40 and keep the boost at 38-40psi you should have no problems with your head gasket and turbo. Get the guages in there now. As for a clucth id call Peter at SBC,and get his advice there. An turbo and edm 2-2. 5s should get you 440-460RWHP. It will smoke laying into it hard ,but the smoke is controllable easliy with a 6 speed.

If your a hard driving. raciing guy id get a B1 or a Pius/Bell turbo and an o ring job. You wont get much more hp than an hx40 but the turbos can take a beating. They are not wastegated though,so you need the o rings/head studds . get some edm 2. 5-3. 5s and you should be around 450-490hp
