Transmission lube filter question

I have a 2001. 5 ETH 2500 RAM and after I get my back ordered gauges installed, I'm considering some bombing mods. I'm thinking about an Edge EZ, JRE 4 inch exhaust and a Psychotty air filter assembly. I figure increase the intake and the exhaust, a little electronic mods (EZ) and that should be a good setup. I don't want to get into injectors. The question I have is, will my stock clutch hold up to these mods? I don't want to be replacing the stocker for an after market at just 2 months of ownership. Banks has a $2500 kit which would produce more power and they say you don't need to touch the clutch. If the stock clutch won't hold out for the mods I'm thinking of doing, maybe I'll just do the EZ for now and wait on the rest when my clutch is a little more worn. Any info would be appreciated.

2001. 5 2500 2x4, SLT, QC, ETH/DEE, 4. 10 limited slip, camper/tow package, 4 wheel disc brakes, passenger grab handle, hood insulation, rear seat cup holders and both vanity mirrors but no lights. Waiting on gauges (back ordered).

Save the money on the intake and exhaust and put it toward the clutch. In my tests the exhaust doesn't even give lower temps at near stock power levels and may even increase them a little. Making illflem's mods to the stock air box is almost as good as the Psychotty

If that is all you are gonna do (and it won't be) then your clutch will be fine. As far as the Banks kits go, I don't think any opinion of mine would help you out. If this doesn't help you out, let us know. You are in good company.

'99 2500 ISB QC SLT (No Leather!), 4x4, 5sp w/McLeod, 4:10, BD-II, PE, PE-EZ, 4"exh. , Pac-Brake, A-Pillar gauge pod w/boost and pyro, Line-X, V-1, lights, siren, lic. plt. frame says "Diesel Fumes Make Me Horny!", and much more goofy stuff.

It will be just fine with all the mods.

Just a FYI,the EZ is what's going to make all your extra power. The only gain you will get from the exhaust and Psychotty is lower exhaust temps. Air filters and exhaust systems do not add more power.

I agree with MikeR... those mods will not hurt your clutch. You would need more power enhancements to make it slip!

All good posts... . but I would start thinking about injectors. They make a huge difference in performance, may improve your mileage, and it's a healthy move for the VP44.

I have a VA, 275's, and a boost module and I have no slipping on my clutch with over 90k on it. I would say until you surpass 300 RWHP you are ok with the stock unit. :D

I used to have the top level Banks kit on my pickup, after only a couple thousand miles running empty the clutch would slip a little at full throttle. Still very drivable but I didn't want to see how bad it would be with 15k in tow.
