Competition Pullin and lower HP trucks...like mine

Competition DHRA Division 2 ready for membership

if i have the banks big hoss that is rated at 160 hp and 311ft/lbs. and the DD3 how is that going to effect the life expectancy of the engine and the transmission. i have a 2001 HO 6 speed

Well, your going to need a clutch to back up that Big hoss chip and DD3 injectors.

Probably a South Bend Con OFE should do the trick.

Life expectancy, well your now high performance, so I would suggest changing your oil every 3k miles and using Fleetguard stratopore filters.

You should still get 300,000+miles out of your engine.

The only time the wear will be any different than an unmodified engine is when you use the new power. If you dont use it its tha same as not having it as far as wear goes so you get to chose. Even then there are some very high horsepower trucks on this site with lots of miles on them that are doing fine.

tpruitt,

Oil change interval with Amsoil and modified engine.

I will let someone that is an Amsoil expert comment on that one.

I use Amsoil and the dual bypass filter system and with anylisis every 6000 miles coming back with good numbers and a "continue to use" rating I have currently about 30,000 on the oil.

:-laf :-laf :-laf Hey Justin, are you getting out of the engine building business and going into Politics? ;)

Do a few samples and check your soot levels. You don't want your oil oversooted.

3000 is no doubt way low, but the company did not do extended drain testing on BOMBed Cummins engines!

I use to run the Amsoil 5W-30 30,000 miles, no By-pass at 300hp, no problems with soot.

i have not dynoed yet but if all #'s are correct right now i should be close to 325 and if i do injectors i will be close to 425hp is that to much if i want it for a daily driver and to last a long time.

I sure hope 425 is not too much for lasting a long time cause I am there already and am starting to see why Joe D calls his poor truck "Sickly", after a while it sure seems to get slower.
