Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Bombing mileage

I have been reading on TDR for some time now. This is my first post so I would like to thank you guys for all your good Info and ideas. I have a 2001 CTD with 107,000 miles on it. Only mod now is a edge comp box but my stock auto transmission is Almost dead. I have Already chose a transmission builder. How much more life left in CTD if I replace transmission install bigger Injectors and Turbo? Should I just trade for new truck and bomb it?

My 99 just turned past the 260,000 mile mark. It's been bombed like it is now ever since it had 20K miles on it. I've been through a few injector pumps, lift pumps, trannys and clutches but the engine is doing fine. The only issue I have with it now is a small oil leak has appeared at the rear seal. I was hoping it was the valve cover but it's not.

oh no 53

I just went to look for the 53 on the engine and found it. On passenger side under the oil filter.

Well don't worry till it's a problem.....

Mine is a 53 and I have 196,000 on her and she runs like new - well MUCH better than new..... and no leaks... ...

As things happen I plan to relpace with bigger & better. lift pump, trany, injectors... :-laf A new truck would mean I'd have to start all over again. Don't think I could slip that past the better half.



If you are set on a new truck sounds like someone will get something to BOMB
