Borgeson shaft install -- Stubborn coupler??

Hi,
I'm looking to get a little more power out of my rig and want people's suggestions on which parts to go with. I've priced a few places, but wanted to check with y'all before I sink some serious $$ into parts that I could get elsewhere for less.

First off, I'm looking into the Diesel Dynamics Stage II kit with pyro and boost gauges. Here's the price breakdown:
Stage II Injectors - $600
94-98 turbo housing (16cm2) - $157. 50
Pillar mounted 2 gauge set (Autometer) - $225
Reman/Recal Injection pump - $735

Labor is:
R/R Inj pump - $337. 50
Install housing - $150
Install 2 gauge set - $240

Grand total out the door is:
$2546. 56

So here's my question, are these prices fair or who out there can beat them?

K_Arts says that the RMTDR group is doing a BOMBing session on the 8th, so most of the labor is going to be gone, but can I save some on the parts?

Forgot to mention, I'm replacing the pump because it leaks...

Thanks,
Joe

You might not need an "off the shelf" pump.
Check this site out.
Big Don's tractor repair might be a good place to price as well.
Make sure that you ask vendors if they offer TDR member discounts.

Check out BD for pumps et al. They have the whole works for one stop shopping, and expert advise to boot. Just a thought.
(gotta plug those Canadian boys!!)

Changing the turbine housing is not too difficult, you might want to do it yourself if you are mechanically inclined. As for Autometer gauges, that would not be my first choice. I could go into horror story mode, but suffice to say, I bought one set. I will not buy another.

Everyone has an opinion. . . I feel the DD prices are reasonable, and I have seen much higher elsewhere. I also like Autometer and have used their gauges for years. The kit DD puts into their VE pumps has impressed the local Bosch shop enough that they use it in every pump they rebuild, I'm told. THAT should get your attention! For the record, BD is good too and they have been in the business a long time.

Joe,

What do you mean by a "kit" that DD puts in the pumps?? I have seen their diaphragm pin, actually tried on and then had some made of my own design just for kicks. Is there some other part they are offering that I am not aware of??

thanks
Don

First of all. The housing is a simple swap no sence in spending 150. 00 there and 240. 00 to install a guage set ???????? ROTFLMAO thats way too high. hopefully, you'd want to work on your own truck as much as possible. Spend the $ 390. 00 elsewhere. Mike
