Installed DDIIs and a Pyro in a 2001 Auto last night. Install went pretty slow, but it's done. The truck already had a fueling box on it (PM2). I'd like to know who designed the goof-ball wastegate system on the HY-35?
That thing makes it impossible to get the turbo off the manifold without first taking the wastegate "hardware" off. That's the most hokey mess I've ever seen!
Anyway, as many of you already know, the EGT's get real high, real quick now. The tiny lawn-mower turbo on the autos is so choked up, it gets way too hot, way too soon.
Will an HX-35 easily replace the HY? I'm sure many of you have already gone this route. I'd like some information before we do anything else to this truck.
