Ok--the 4:10 detroit locker for the rear and the 4:10 powerlock for the front are going in along w/ red magview diff covers front & back and will be ready 1/26/01 in place of the factory 3:54 w/LS in the rear--On their way is (shipping 1/25/01) #ad
TT valve body and TC w/ mag-hytec transmission pan and the power edge EZ box and 275 injectors-----so the question is what have I forgotten that is a must? And what are the consequences for your suggestions--bad, good and ugly????
I don't tow often, but it will happen(horses or equipment), but again not often. My commute-right now is city driving 10 miles round trip-but it will change(general contractor-gotta go where there's work) could be up to 60 miles round trip--and there are hills(San Francisco). I do load my truck down once a month with job mat'ls(my 5" lift looks like a 2" or 3" lift-it's loaded), but again the commute is usually under 50 miles when loaded and there isn't any funny stuff happening when it's loaded. Sorry for so much crap but wanted ya to get the low down. chris

The most important mod you need is GAGES! Get em before you start tearing into the engine. You'll thank me later.

I don't think you'll like the posi in the front. I think it will be hard on steering and the transfer case, but haven't tried it myself. The DL is good and you will probably like it in the rear. Hope the shop does a good installation for you!

get yourself at least a pyrometer to keep an eye on the EGT's very important to keep them below about 1300*F. a boost gauge is nice too, but not as essential as the pyro!

Did you check that the Pwr Loc is the right one? Seems to me the new 60's only have a 32 spline inner shaft. Unless spicer retooled the only Pwr-Loc available is for a 35 spline shaft aka a real D60. Just giving you a heads up.

Scrambld4x4---you hit it on the head---doesn't fit--the pisser is I called the shop right after your post and asked them to check it out(Wed. )--no return call--so I stopped by yesterday and the guy who's doing the install is off for the day, but the rear is done---this morning call and everything should be done by 1:00--get to my office & there's a message and I knew what it was--aaaarrrrggggggghhhhhhh---waiting for the call from the manager---I'll keep ya posted---anyone got a substitute option for me--I do want posi--maybe the ARB in the front is the way to go now-----sorry for venting, but kudos to SCRAMBLD 4x4--to bad the shop didn't do their part..... chris... . I'm truckless

Chris, the ARB is probably your best bet for the front!! Mr. Donnelly hit right on the head about lockers in the front. The disconnect on these trucks is only for one axle up front. Pete

01. 5 Loooaded up!!!!!

Seems Precision Gear didn't do their part when it was ordered--oh well---the ARB is ordered--my original thoughts and still-- is if you have the ARB engaged and the truck dies while traversing something hairy will the ARB stay locked in--even upon restarting--I'll check out the web site also---thanks again for the helpful info--oh yea I picked up the truck--has the Detroit in the rear and they changed out the gears in the front--so I'm semi happy----chris
