Okay after reading the installation guide for the EZ is Notes: on 2001 auto's turbos, the wasetegate is a solid line and does not have a brass elbow to be replaced? can anyone explain this to me? how do I permit turbo boost pressures of greater than 20 psi without the wastegate opening??

We put an EZ on a friend of mine's truck and he says he gets 26 or better and we did not touch the wastegate.

Don't have the auto, but here are a couple of solutions.

1. Make up a turnbuckle to hold the wastegate closed (do a search on wastegate turnbuckle).

2. Some have use an empty 22 shell and placed in in the brass tube to restrict the air flow to the wastegate (do a search on wastegate shell).

If you do not modify the wastegate, you will not get higher boost... ;)

Turnbuckle

Baccoman, I used the turnbuckle method and it works great. Cost was under $5 and it can be removed in a minute. With the turnbuckle I was hitting low 30's unloaded. You will really enjoy your EZ then:D :D Do the search, there are some great pictures out there too. Good luck.
