What a difference the boost elbow made on my truck with my stock turbo. Without the boost elbow I would tow on level 2 or 3 up Parleys canyon (in Utah) and hit the EGT back down set at 1350 pretty quick. Boost would stay right around 24-25psi at about 3/4 throttle. It would go higher if I stepped on it but so would the EGT's. I put the boost elbow on the truck to see if it would make it worse or better. Come to find out it helped quite a bit. At 3/4 throttle with the boost elbow the turbo would make around 31-33psi and I never hit 1350*. Highest I saw was 1300 and the speed that I was able to go over the summit increased by 15mph (from 55 to 70mph) do to the EGTs being lower and being able to give it more power. I could have gone faster if there wasn't traffic blocking me. I towed on level 4 the whole time and had plenty of power without getting to hot. Engine temp did get a little warm however. I wasn't a believer in the boost elbow before but I am now. Towing conditions were a 10k 5th wheel and 98* temps out side. Altitude was 4500-7120ft. Driving conditions were similar without the boost elbow that I used for comparison.
