Boost fooler stacked with edge

My edge chip recently had some issues and i had to remove it. I cant afford to get the new edge CTS just yet, so i was looking into getting a boost fooler so that way i could take advantage of my turbo and injectors. My question is if i install a boost fooler can i leave it inline with the edge, or would i be wasting my money and should just wait till i can afford the edge again?

I can't answer your question on the boost fooler but my edge on my 03 also as recently started acting up. I was wondering what yours had started doing wrong.



Mine was surging and finally triped a code with the map sensor. After trying a new map sensor the problem was still there. When I would disconnect the power from the edge the problem was still there also. Only when I completely removed the edge did the problem go away. On a side note the timing rattle is alot quieter without the edge.

It can be inline, but put it after the Edge.

They can be inline but the Edge boost fools as well. I dont think there will be any benefit gained by leaving it in place after re-installing the edge; just another fail point.

That is one problem with "chips" they themselves or the connections go bad. This happens quite often. That is one reason I went the Smarty Jr route.

After doing an ohm test on the injectors and the cross over wires, i unhooked the wires from the edge to the injector wires and that ended up taking care of it. I would really like to go to a smarty but i like how the edge can defuel and i wont have to buy the extra gauges.

That is my issue too, I like having the defueling option as I let several others drive the truck when we are rodeoing pretty hard. I know i will watch the gauges and back out of it if needed, but hard to feel safe that someone else will. I quess I will send the edge in and have it repaired.
