What exactly does a boost fooler do? Do all the plug in boxes need one? I am getting transmission upgrades than pouring on the power. Just trying to get prepared:) Thanks for your help!

A boost module, by definition, simply electrically limits what the ECM sees of pressure coming from the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor.

If the ECM sees over 21psi on a std output ETC truck, or 23psi on the high output ETH truck, it will defuel the pump to try to keep the boost in check.

Most current boxes (Edge EZ/Comp, DD TTPM/UFM etc) all have them built in.

Brandon,

Email, PM or call Keith (there are strict limitations on vendors and prices, etc on open forums). I run the Edge Drag Comp box, same as DD UFM with minor variances in the software, and LOVE it. Responsiveness increases dramatically and MY (not to say anybody elses) fuel mileage improved when I can keep my foot out of it. The ability to turn it on/off and variable power settings make the Comp/UFM a better unit than the EZ/TTPM boxes.

Brandon, on your truck, it will make ~120hp gain to the wheels as she sits. More if you add injectors/turbo later. Our website has all the prices listed.

Let us not forget Bully Dog is also a fooler and comes with the boost elbow... ... ... ... ..... just didn't want to see them left out.

Thanks everyone!:D I want the in-cab adjustability. What are the best boxes to run that are adjustable in the cab. I am leaning towards the ufm from dd. I am also looking at the dd2's or 3's. These trucks are a lot of fun:) and also a good way to spend money:cool:

I am going with a TST Power Max 3, that has a fooler, but Edge makes a good one. I just didn't want to be moving the timing all the time. The timing box I have on now is enough for me, just hope to stack it with the TST.

I went with the DDUFM and with Dons 105HP EDM's, I then went with a PDR HX40 and I am more than Happy..... I love the in-cab adjustability... .

Thanks,

I know I need to focus on the transmission next. Than probably some mach 1. 5's and a ddufm. I wonder how that would run with say an ats stage IV transmission:) We'll just keep saving money for the trans. :{ Thanks again!

Gmaines,

Did you have the hy-35 in your truck stock? I don't know what mine is but '02 and auto I thought meant hy-35. If so how much can I add before I have to swap the turbo? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just not sure what turbo i have:confused:

You are correct bbodammer, with an '02 auto you have an HY-35, which is a 9 cm exhaust housing. I think the HX-35 are a 12 cm exhaust. I noticed in your sig that you list Di-pricol gauges, I hope that one of them is fuel pressure. The fuel pressure gauge is very important when you start your BOMBing  .

Jeff

Jeff,

I do not have a fuel pressure gauge, but am planning on adding one. At the time I felt i needed the trans temp first, but all in all I know the fuel pumps are not the strongest when bombed:{ Thanks for the reminder though. After all whats a little more money right:D
