I am running a 99 Quad 4x4 with tourqe dog plus box, k&n gen2 with shield, rv 275'ss, somebody stole the muffler. I love the yeehaa i get out of her but i was wondering since my box does not plug into the map sensor, how and would i benifit from foolin the boost. By the way this site and TDR has given me a new love for my truck. Although my wife thinks its a piece of junk cause i have to keep buy new parts ( what else am i suppose to say  )

Well here goes...

Clipping the voltage to the map sensor (below 2. 5 volts I believe. ) will prevent your injector pump from defueling after building above 20 pounds of boost. Which also means you need to have a pyrometer guage as it will be easy to exceed 1200 degees for a prolonged amount of time. You will also notice that at wot the black smoke comeing out the exhaust will be lasting alonger amount of time too. And yes you will pick up a bunch of horsepower. I happen to have one of those foolers sitting on the work bench and will make you a specail deal on it if your interested as I run the Comp box.

Dont ya need somthing to plug or set the wastegate to open at a higher boost number? Or does that usually come with the fooler?

You need to fool the wastegate on the turbo too. Since you have a 99 all you need is an elbow. If you ask around someone may have an extra one... .....

so let me get this right. It sounds to me like opie has made his own fueling box. i wonder if you could experiment with different resistors to get the desired effect

Errrtttttt Whoa I say I say Whoaaah Nellly...

No I haven't made my own fueling box. As for the Map sensor and diffrent resistors- Originaly I installed the old style Dynoresources fueling box, Then had DDT install DD2 injectors and they gave me hands on advice to modify my wastegate on the factory hy35 turbo. After that I did experiment making my own Map sensor fooler /voltage clipper, I tried using a two volt zenor diode for a while which worked but left the pins in the open enviroment which led to intermittant faults so I gave in and bought a fooler from a company that advertised in TDR. But I upgraded boxes after DDT proved to me that the boxes they were selling were much better than the one I was useing. (Thank you Stefan. ) After buying a new box the fooler was no longer needed. And now may be heading down to Florida.
