What boost numbers should I be seeing with my setup? I have a 99 auto with a VA box, bullydog stage III injectors, BHAF, 4" exhaust. I have used the VA w/ its boost fooler and a practical solutions boost fooler with the VA only for fueling, and the max boost I get is about 28 lbs. I have also tried two different elbows at the wastegate and cannot get over the 28 lbs of boost.
Do I need to open up the vent hole on the elbow? Or is this about it for boost? Thanks in advance.

You might check your gauge for accuracy and the line from the intake manifold/head to the gauge for restriction.

Are you talking about the boost elbow? If you are than making that hole bigger will reduce your boost. When I compare my stock boost elbow with the TTPM elbow the latter is much smaller

I am talking about the vent hole on the wastegate side of the elbow, not the hole reducing the airflow from the turbo into the elbow. I have one adjustable elbow, and found out if you increase the airflow going to the wastegate it would reduce the amount of boost I was getting. I also replaced my boost gauge hose not long ago. I would think I should be getting 30-34 lbs easy, but am not sure what boost the turbo on the 99 auto's is capable of. I am not real sure which turbo I have!

I am getting around 40psi with bullydog 2's, drag comp, stock turbo on a 99' auto.

Also that is using the elbow that came with the comp box.

At 28 lbs of boost are you still getting some smoke? It not then it is a fuel problem.

are you satizfied with the power?

More boost only causes heated intake air toget hot which reduces power!!

There is a pretty good amount of smoke when I nail it, and also some at WOT when showing the 28 lbs of boost. The truck accelerates good, but I think I expected more with the stage III injector addition. With a G-tech, I am running 7. 7-8. 3 zero to sixty times, and about 290 hp at the rear wheels. Sounds a little slow and low to me!

I really think the boost elbow is limiting me to the 28 lbs of boost. I may plug it off and make a couple runs. By the way, EGT's are well in control, so the boost may be what I want in the end anyway. I just want to know why it's not more. Oh, the boost elbow I am currently using came with the practical solutions boost fooler I bought for the original VA without the boost fooler.

Ran the test with the waste gate plugged, and still only 28-29 lbs boost. have checked for leaks and tightened everything. Am starting to think it is a gauge problem. The boost gauge hits the 28 immediatley when I nail it, but stops there like a brick wall.
