I just installed my gauges on Friday (Auto meter Z series, 2616 Boost, 2654 EGT - 2 probes and 2603 FP) in my 2001 HO equiped truck. When the truck is not running (and at idle) the boost gauges shows about 2. 5-3#. I have been able to get it up to 22 :D but am wondering if it is accurate... Any ideas?

The guage should zero. It may be accurate once it gets to the 2. 2-3 psi but I would'nt accept a guage that won't zero. It was probably dropped or abused is some way during shipping. Get one that zero's and send that one back. Jake

Where are you located? In the higher elevations you'll read an actual pressure of 2lbs and this is correct at sea level. Check it against another one if it makes you feel better.

Like I said, 2lbs is sea level pressure. You're not that far off of your mark. You're actually closer than if the guage read zero.

My neighbor just installed an Auto Meter boost gauge on his duramax and it reads 4lbs at idle. I have the Phantom series boost gauge and it zero's. I thought it had something to do with that screwy duramax, but maybe his gauge is bad too.

I guess if it's bad, I'll just have to take it and have it blow in my face until I get it back  I hope I didn't loose the factory bolt when I was cleaning up Friday...

Email from Autometer says that it will need to be returned... I guess I will be without. I believe I will wait a few days (putting the exhaust and EZ on tomorrow) :)
