Boost gauge is in...now what?

I installed gauges to help me manage the truck, mainly when I'm towing. I understand the EGT and transmission temp, but how is the boost gauge going to help me? Other than letting me know when I'm really in the pedal, what else does it tell me?

Not only is it fun to watch once you start adding fuel, but it helps diagnos problems later on.

A drop in normal boost levels could indicate a leak in the system or other problems.

It will also help you drive more efficently.



I. E. for me, if I am horsing around, if I roll onto the throttle until I have about 10# of boost before I mash it, the smoke is not as bad, EGT's are a little lower, and the acceleration is better.
